Chi's friend is a character named Kotone. She is a minor character of the spin-off series Karakai Jōzu no (Moto) Takagi-san and is a supporting character of Nishikata-chan. She is in the same class as Chi.
Appearance[]
Kotone has brown eyes and brown hair. Her bangs are parted on the left hand side by a hairclip. Her glasses are a prominent accessory of hers. She is of average height. She wears the typical girls' winter uniform.
Personality[]
Kotone is a very calm person. She is kind and caring too as she is seen to help out Chi when she is being oblivious. She is wise and observant.

Chi Nishikata[]

Kotone seems to be Chi's closest friend in class. They have lunch together. Chi is quite dense, so, her friend tries to get her to see things more clearly. She seems to be the only one to notice the obvious connection between Chi and her seatmate and tries to make them both realize this fact.
Ooshiro[]

They used to be classmates in elementary school. They are classmates in middle school as well. She greets him on the first day of middle school but he doesn't seem to recognise her, however, they still exchange pleasantries. She seems to be the only one to notice the obvious connection between him and Chi and often tries to make them both realize this fact which shows that she actually knows him pretty well despite not being close in elementary school. She is the one who suggests that he would remember a girl he likes which he admits is true.
